Overview
Dapur Kynan is a web-based project developed for a local UMKM food business that sells bakery products, snacks, beverages, and various homemade chili sauces and spices owned by Mrs. Kynan. This project was conducted as part of the MBKM Community Service (PKM) program by a team consisting of myself, Ammar, and Jasmine, each with distinct responsibilities. The system was designed to transform the business operations from a WhatsApp-only sales process into a structured e-commerce experience while maintaining WhatsApp as the primary transaction channel.
The Challenge
The business previously relied solely on WhatsApp for customer inquiries and transactions, resulting in repetitive questions regarding product availability and difficulties in reaching a wider customer base. Additionally, all transaction records and financial bookkeeping were managed manually using handwritten notes, which increased the risk of data loss, inaccuracies, and limited the ability to analyze sales performance.
The Solution
The project introduces a web-based e-commerce platform with a PHP-based frontend integrated with WhatsApp for order processing. Customers can place orders through the website, complete payments via QRIS, and automatically initiate WhatsApp chats containing order details. Order statuses are visible to both customers and the business owner. A sales dashboard built with Next.js is embedded into the PHP system, providing real-time sales charts and analytical insights. Monthly financial records can be viewed and downloaded directly in Excel or Word format, enabling more efficient bookkeeping and business decision-making.
